Over the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Super Star Sport team, a fantastic children’s sports coaching franchise that helps people run their own businesses delivering sessions in schools, nurseries, and holiday camps. As someone who’s spent most of my life involved in community sport, this one struck a real chord with me.

They had absolutely nailed their core business offering and, on the surface, they were perfect to expand as a franchise. However, like many growing franchises, they’d hit that tricky stage where things stop running quite as smoothly as they once did. Recruitment had slowed, supporting franchisees was getting tougher, and it wasn’t clear where the next improvements should come from.

To their credit, they didn’t ignore the signs or push on regardless. They recognised that even the best teams need a coach sometimes – or, at least, someone to take a fresh look, ask the difficult questions, and help them work out how to move forward. I was the one lucky enough to be asked to help with a full and frank assessment of where they were, where they wanted to be, and what actions they needed to take to get there.

We recently caught up with Super Star Sport Director and Network Manager, Billy Densham, to talk about what that process was really like: the challenges, the turning points, and the lessons learned along the way.

If you’re a franchisor wondering whether a bit of outside support could make your network stronger, I think you’ll find his perspective very interesting. Here’s where you can watch the videos:

With the right insights to fuel them, the Super Star Sport team were able to turn things around in extraordinary fashion. From a stalled recruitment drive to recruiting 10 franchisees in just 9 months, they’re able to move forward with clarity and confidence. To be clear, they didn’t do this because they were failing as a franchise, quite the opposite. They did this because they were confident they had everything it took to succeed – and they were right.

Could the right support do the same for you and your franchise? Of course, Super Star Sport opted for quite an in-depth consultancy, but that’s not always what everyone wants, or needs. Just like everything else we offer at The Franchising Centre, we can work with you in as big or as small a capacity as you need to achieve your goals.

It all starts with a free chat, which you can setup anytime using the Schedule Call button below.
