Sound familiar?
It’s a pretty common problem for franchises at a certain point in their development. There are so many moving parts involved in turning your business into a successful franchise that you can easily get bogged down in the details, and overlook the importance of a long-term vision and strategy.
This particular quote is from Jo Morris, Founder of the Mini Lingos franchise, who specialise in delivering fun and educational Spanish classes to young children. She was kind enough to put together a video about why she decided to look for outside help in the form of our Franchise Operations and Support Service, and it makes for really interesting viewing.

Now, full disclosure, she does talk a lot about the help I provided, which I am really happy to hear, but that’s not the main reason I am sharing this with you. This is a challenge many franchisors face, and I thought this might be useful for you to see that you’re not alone in facing it, and you don’t have to be alone in overcoming it either.
Jo had done everything right – getting all her systems in place, writing a great ops manual, and joining the bfa. However, somewhere along the way, she had lost sight of where she wanted to take the franchise, and how she could get it there.
Here’s how bringing in an outside expert changed all that
With someone outside the business asking the right questions, Jo was able to step back and articulate where she actually wanted Mini Lingos to be in three, five, and ten years. When you’re in the thick of it, it can be pretty hard to have those conversations, so our mission was primarily to help her gain the clarity she needed.
It’s one thing to have a vision, but it’s another to have a practical roadmap for getting there. We worked closely with her to develop a clear, actionable strategy by breaking down her goals into achievable milestones, with clear priorities and timelines that actually fit around the realities of running her franchise.
We also helped her free up more time to focus on the future, supporting her with improvements to the day-to-day operations of the franchise so that she could have the time and space she need to focus on growth.
One of the biggest challenges franchisors can face isn’t a lack of knowledge or capability – it’s perspective.
When you’re deeply embedded in your franchise, it’s incredibly difficult to see the gaps, the patterns, and the opportunities that an outside expert can spot immediately. An objective expert can help you by bringing fresh eyes to what’s actually holding you back, and a way forward founded on their experience of working with dozens of other franchises.
