Normally, if you want a consultant’s expert advice on anything, you need to pay them, of course. Day rate, retainer, whatever the model – good advice always comes with a price tag attached.
We’re flipping it.
The world of software moves quickly, and the last few years have seen the most accelerated change ever, as well as incredible new innovations. We’ve decided it’s time we changed how we do things too, and Ideasfest helped convince us.
If you’re not aware of the event, it really is like the Glastonbury of the business world and, of course, new tech is right at the heart of it. Instead of headline acts, you have all the A-listers of the software world. AI was one of the biggest topics of the day, of course, and Alan and I were privileged to give our own little talk on how AI works in franchising.
It was a fascinating couple of days, but one of the most important things I noticed was that the same question kept coming up every time we spoke to franchisors and business leaders: is the tech you’re running actually right for your business, or is it simply what you happened to land on a few years ago?
It’s tough to get a straight answer to that – so, we’ve decided to give one, for free.
Here’s what a TFC tech stack audit gets you:
- We review what you’re currently using and flag where it’s costing you time, money, or both
- If there’s something better suited to your business, we’ll tell you – and because of our supplier relationships, you’ll usually get it cheaper than going direct
- We don’t charge a penny for the audit
And if everything you’ve got is doing the job, we’ll tell you that too.
Everything we recommend has already been through our own testing process – does it solve a genuine problem, does the team behind it keep improving it, and is it actually built for franchising rather than bolted on as an afterthought?
A surprising amount of software fails at least one of those tests. We only put our name behind the ones that pass all three.
We’ve been having this conversation with businesses of every size lately – from single-unit operators right up to a founder who started out selling toothbrushes four years ago and is on track for £100m turnover next year.
Different scale, same question every time: is there something out there that would genuinely make life easier?
That’s the conversation we’re taking TFC Digital on the road to have.
We’re not there just to talk at people about what we do. We want to hear what’s actually causing problems for you, because that’s usually where the better recommendation comes from.
